As LeSean McCoy, Trent Cole and Cary Williams are all headed in new ways from Eagles, Chip Kelly now has piled up a huge amount of cash to spend on. The question remains as to where Chip will be spending the money into – will it be Ndamukong Suh, Randall Cobb, Darrelle Revis or all three. Despite dumping around $31.5 million in cap space, Kelly still has a cap room of $48,634,353. The Eagles still have active contracts amounting to $104,077,638 on the books. Now what will Kelly do with that amount of money?
Here are two ideas that Chip Kelly can do with all the money:
Throw a huge stack at Ndamukong Suh
It seems absurd thought that Kelly will spend a huge amount of money just to get a single player by letting go three or four of his team’s high paid players. Nevertheless, Suh, who is currently in the NFL the second most disruptive force right after J.J Watt, will heavily improve Eagle’s defence.
Spreading the money
Kelly still has the option to spend the money around after LeSean McCoy investment seemed to be a failed one. Kelly could also get DeMarco Murray who would cost him similar to that of McCoy’s.
