A few weeks ago Monolith Productions and Warner Bros. Intertactive Entertainment announced the DLC Forthog Orc-Slayer for Middle-earth: Shadow of War, content that seeks to honor Mike “Forthog” Forgey, executive producer of the recently deceased game. Now, the company is changing plans.
Originally, the proceeds raised by the sale of this DLC in the United States would be delivered to the Forgey family. However, this generated many doubts among the fans, as the company did not say what it would do with the rest of the money obtained in other regions of the world.
In response, Warner Bros. issued a statement saying that donating DLC sales was not the best way to help the Forgey family, so it announced several changes. Therefore, the downloadable content will be free at the time Shadow of War is available, while the company will make a direct donation to the Forgey family.
“We now recognize that donating DLC sales was not the best way to achieve our goal of providing financial support to the family and creating a lasting memorial for Michel Forgey,” the company explained. “We sincerely apologize to the fans and the Forgey family for the confusion we created.”
“To ensure that the original 2 goals are still met, and to provide transparency to the community, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment will make a donation directly to the Forgey family. The DLC will be removed from the sale and will be a free download to owners. Middle-earth: Shadow of War, “the study said. “Anyone who has purchased the DLC will receive a full refund. If there is interest to donate directly to the family, please visit your youcaring site.”
Shadow of War will debut on October 10 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. We invite you to look for more details in this link.
