After it seems clear that this year’s iPhone will appear in three different models, there is once more rumors around the display of the iPhone 8. According to a report from Japan, this should actually have a size of 5.8 inches, while it of Another side is that Apple could also remove the volume buttons from the new model. But what is the truth of this statement?
Apple will release three new models of the iPhone this year. This includes two devices which will come with the usual LCDs and will be equipped with a 4.7-inch or 5.5-inch display as in the previous years. These could come under the designation iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus on the market. In addition, there will probably still be a high-end model, which will listen to the name iPhone 8. This will probably have a bent 5.8 inch OLED display. This size has now been confirmed by Japan’s Nikkei again, after a small 5 inch device.
This change of course could come from the specifications of the iPhone 8, however. Because of the 5.8 inch display, namely only 5.15 inches are actually used as the main display, while the rest is to be converted into a functional area of the Touch Bar.
In addition, another report appeared, which speaks of another serious change. According to the economic magazine FastCompany, the volume buttons of the scissors are now also falling victim. However, these should not disappear completely. Rather, they should follow the path of the home key and be replaced by touch-sensitive virtual keys. However, this does not yet seem to be carved in stone, since one would initially want to focus on the correct integration of the home button into the display. Due to the bent display of the iPhone 8, the elimination of the physical volume keys seems to be quite realistic, as this could save more space.
