During the 2014 season, of all the teams, Patriots was the only team lacking a former NFL player on board of coaching staff. This though was not a barrier pf them winning the Super Bowl.
Ray Ventrone has been announced as the new assistant special team coach. This comes just few weeks after he was playing for 49ers.
Ventrone has now secured the chance of playing his post-playing career in the environment where he started his carrier. He was first made his regular appearance for the team in the year 2007.
He ended the year on injured reserve after he suffered groin injury. During his time in the line-up he saw a lot time on special than the secondary. This gave him the chance of the majority of his playing career.
When he was in England, San Francisco and Cleveland he played over 9 seasons playing 97 games recording 578 tackles.
