Suresh Prabhu, Railway Minister of India, has grieved over the accident of Bachrawa train jear Rae Bareli of Uttar Pradesh. He has also announced ex-gratia to the next kin of the deceased amounting to Rs two lakh.
Friday, March 20, 2015, New Delhi: Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu has expressed grief over the loss of innocent lives in Bachrawa train accident near Rae Bareli in Uttar Pradesh and announced an ex-gratia of Rs two lakh to the next kin of the dead.
Meanwhile, Minister of Railways Manoj Sinha and Chairman, Railway Board, AK Mittal have rushed to the accident site to take stock of the situation.
At least fifteen passengers were killed and 56 injured when two reserved coaches of Varanasi bound 4266 down Dehradun Janta Express derailed at Bachrawa railway station today.
Railway sources said the derailment occurred when the train was approaching towards platform number 3 of the station.
The derailed coaches were near the engine with most of the deceased and injured passengers from S-7.
High speed of the train could be the reason behind the mishap.
Relief train has been rushed from Lucknow, while injured have been admitted to hospital.
