Rumors were rife about the fitness of the pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and the spinner, R Ashwin for the ensuing World Cup cricket match of India against South Africa on Sunday, 22nd.Feb. 2015. However, India has dismissed all speculations about these two players’ fitness, and set at rest by declaring that both are fully fit for the match in Melbourne against South Africa.

The pacer Kumar was described as doubtful for the South Africa match due to his lack-luster training session on Wednesday at Melbourne. On the other hand, R Ashwin was reported to have been struck by an Umesh Yadav delivery while practicing in nets. Dr. Baba, the team Manager of the Indian team said that he had been receiving so many anxious phone calls regarding the fitness of Kumar and Ashwin. He issued an email in this connection, and stressed that both players were fit for the match against South Africa, and were raring to go.

These two are the key players in India’s match against the Proteas on Sunday. India opened their World Cup championship defense with their encounter against arch rival Pakistan, and won with the so far biggest margin of 76 runs. Different teams are plagued with the problems of fitness of these players, and many players have been ruled out of the World Cup matches. India’s win against Pakistan last Sunday has boosted Team India’s morale to the zenith, and the thriller the next Sunday will be a treat to the eyes. Fans await with bated breath the next match of India on coming Sunday.
