In the west of Mozambique there have been a lot of deaths and more than 100 casualties.

In the explosion of a tank truck in Mozambique on Thursday at least 43 people have been killed. The disaster occurred according to the government in the small town of Caphiridzange in the western province of Tete. 110 more people suffered fire damage.

According to the first investigations, the heat of the torch was set in flames, according to a statement from the government. People had tried to get fuel from the tank truck.

According to the British ‘Guardian’, the injured were taken to Tete, a provincial hospital located 90 kilometers from the scene. The province of Tete is about 1600 kilometers northwest of Mozambique’s capital Maputo.

Three ministers have made their way to the scene of misfortune. The government had recently increased the gasoline price after the local currency had lost Metical versus the dollar.

According to the International Monetary Fund, Mozambique is one of the poorest countries in the world.
