Days before its official presentation, the features of the Google Pixel 2 come to light. Also those of his older brother, the Pixel 2 XL.

Although its official presentation will occur next October 4, the technical features of the next Google smartphones have already been filtered almost in its entirety.

According to the portal Android Authority ?, Google will present two variants of the same phone, just like it did last year. They would be called Google Pixel 2 and Google Pixel 2 XL.

Google will present two phones next October 4, just like last year.

The largest of them, the Google Pixel 2 XL, will mount a screen with Quad HD resolution. This will occupy the entire front of the screen, following the wake of phones like the G? Alaxy Note 8 or the iPhone X.

Inside the phone you will find a Qualcomm system-on-chip. It will be the Snapdragon 835 model, which other manufacturers have also used in their main high-end phones during 2017. This chip will be accompanied by a NAND memory of 64 and 128 GB. A 4 GB RAM module is also expected.

The new model will incorporate a dual loudspeaker system and will dispense with the 3.5mm jack for audio, unlike previous models.

The main camera will be the biggest star on the phone. It will be christened “Pixel Camera” and will improve in all senses to the previous version. It will have optical image stabilization – unlike the previous model – a new image processing chip and software improvements.

According to Android Police ?, this new camera will integrate a portrait mode similar to the one that Apple, Samsung and other manufacturers have developed during the last months. That yes: unlike the rest of manufacturers, Google’s system would feed from a single camera.

A key point of this new phone, according to Android Authority, is the incorporation of e-SIM. This new type of SIM does not require the insertion of a physical card inside the phone after a change of operator, which will, in the future, save space inside the phone (and use it for the integration of other components). It also facilitates any transition between operators, when processed digitally at all times.

Behind all this technology is a 3.520 mAh battery, IP67 certification against dust and water and glass Gorilla Glass 5. It will also integrate a feature called “Active Edge” that emulates the squeeze mode of the HTC U11 and allows actions “squeezing” the sides of the phone.

The smaller version of the two models, the Pixel 2, will share most of the components and benefits of his older brother. The only differences will be found on the screen (smaller size and Full HD resolution) and battery capacity (2,700 mAh).
