Hello A-J readers!
First off, happy holidays to everyone celebrating. I hope you stay safe, happy, and have a great time.
It has been another eventful year. We’ve seen businesses come and go, stories of hope, and hints for better things to come. Lubbock is set to have a boom in business in 2023, and I am honored that I get to help tell those stories to you, our readers.
As this will be the last Around the Hub column for 2022, and business tends to cool off in December, I thought I would take the time to thank everyone who makes my job a little easier.
Of course, I thank our readers, who take time out of their days to read all of our reporting at the A-J. Also, to the readers who sent me story ideas, thank you for making my job a little easier. And, to the readers who sent kind messages, you really made my day. Knowing that our reporting makes a difference, and is appreciated, means the world to any journalist, including me.
Another group that must be appreciated are my sources – Cathy Potter of the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce, South Plains Workforce Solutions, Kim Davis of NoMiss Communication, and countless others who helped guide me to some of my best stories of the year. Without you, getting that story would have been far more difficult.
Finally, thank you to every business that spoke to me this year. I hope to work with you all again for happy news in the new year.
As always, thank you for reading and supporting the A-J.
