Prosecutors file chargers for Pittsburg home invader | Lifestyle

PITTSBURG, Kan. – Charges were filed today after a weekend home invasion in Pittsburg.

On Sunday, January 22, 2023, at around 6:30 P.M., Pittsburg Police Officers were called to the 900 block of East 8th Street for a robbery.

When officers arrived on the scene, they located a 62-year-old female victim who reported that a male subject had just forced his way inside her residence, struck her several times in the head, took her wallet, and broke her phone before fleeing from the residence.

As a result of the victim’s statements, officers say they were able to identify the suspect as 49year-old Gilbert Edwin Larson, of Pittsburg.

The report indicates that Larson is a subject known to the victim and who had previously been inside her home. Larson was then quickly found and arrested without incident.

Gilbert Larson was arrested for aggravated robbery, battery, misdemeanor theft, and felony criminal damage with a $75,000.00 bond.

On January 23, 2023, prosecutors filed the following charges:

  • Aggravated robbery; Inflicts bodily harm
  • Criminal damage to property; Without consent value $1000 to $25,000
  • Battery; Knowing/recklessly causing bodily harm
