Watt Avenue has a pothole problem, according to several business owners along the popular stretch of Sacramento roadway. It’s been an ongoing issue, but with Saturday’s clear weather, one that remained apparent.“Even a little one, it can damage the tire right away,” said Ahsan Nazar, owner of Xtreme Wheels & Tires.Xtreme Wheels and Tires is on Wat Avenue. For Nazar, despite the potholes bringing in customers, he said, it’s not the way he wants to generate business.“We need to get this repaired and not have people wasting their money,” he said. “We don’t want customers coming in frustrated.”Nazar said he sees customers nearly every day who have problems with their vehicles due to the road conditions on Watt. He said, sometimes, he’ll have multiple people come in with damage on the same day, from the same pothole.Waqar Malik owns North Highland Tire Pros a short distance away. He said in the 10 years he’s been on Watt Avenue, he’s seen little improvement in its condition. He said he sees temporary fixes being made, but ultimately the problem remains.“A lot of our consumers don’t use Watt Avenue anymore because of the potholes, which slowly slowly starts affecting our businesses. Our business is based on people driving by and seeing us and stopping by,” Malik said. “It’s really frustrating but I don’t know who to go to.”
